This new year we bring two plays ,an ode to a world which was and a dream of how it could be ,written by two great poets of the 20th century.
“Under Milk Wood”,a play for voices written by Dylan Thomas
It’s about events in passing of a day in the fictional village Llareggub . The days are same ,the nights no different and everybody knows everything about one and all in this sleepy hill side fishing village, but there is the joyous old world assurance of an unchanging order. The play is a desperate longing to find the chain of our relationships unbroken and the flowers in our garden unwithered in a feverishly crumbling world.
“Plot to Overthrow Christmas” written by the radio poet laureate Norman Corwin
A verse play about the great conspiracy brewing among the legendary villains of our past to bring in chaos and disorder by assassinating Santa Claus. Will they succeed in their mission? Can the handiwork of evil triumph over the spirit of simple good will? Come find out to witness the incredibly funny adventures of the masterminds of hell work against the disarmingly innocent charm of our dearest Santa.
