Prabhat Rao, is an upcoming vocalist, originally from Bangalore, now based in the UK. He has been trained under Guru Chandrima Misra of the Patiala Gharana for the past 11 years at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, London. He holds a Masters in Music from the University of London and is also a lead vocalist for UK’s National Indian Youth Ensemble, Tarang. Prabhat has presented Hindustani vocal recitals at various venues and events in the UK and Europe over the last 5 years. He has recently been awarded the Yuva Sangeet Ratna award by Milapfest in recognition of his contribution to South Asian arts in the UK.
