About the artists:

Archana Kumar :
Temporarily contemporary- her latest developing solo project
Archana Kumar is an independent performance artist and educator. Her works are blunt, daring and heavily influenced by Butoh and improvisation, with all that she experiences around her, at various levels. As a mother , her current research and fascination is understanding children and developing novel methods to use movement and theater in education at the grass roots level. She now works at Pramiti- centre for inclusive learning.

Mirra :

“All I Need Is More!” A work in progress by Mirra.

Mirra has been engaged in Movement Arts since 2002, starting her career with Attakkalari Center For Movement Arts. A creator whose imagination is drawn from images, characters, emotions and issues. She works extensively in dance in education and is passionate about working with children.

Diya Naidu :

“RED DRESS WAALI LADKI ”

Diya Naidu is a Bangalore based freelance dancer and choreographer. After many years in repertory and form based movement work she started to explore a language and medium that is performative yet relevant,primal and political. Red Dress Waali Ladki is her response to the situation of women in urban India.It is a devised,theatrical, contemporary dance piece. It was first showcased at PECDA and then later developed in a residency in Zurich by Pro Helvetia.
Diya is an independent artist and the piece is self funded.
