On the eve of Indian Republic Day, reputed dancers of Bangalore get together to celebrate through dance. Main forms learnt and practiced today in the city – Bharatatnatyam, Kathak, Orissi, Kuchipudi – will be platformed by curator of the Dance Discourse Series – now in its 6th year! – renowned scholar-mentor Ashish Khokar. Live musicians culminate with a tribute to India, in which all forms will come together, making a kaleidoscope of Indian dances. N.Gururaj dances Kuchipudi; Tushar-Puja Bhat duo do Kathak, Orissi by Sarita Mishra and Jyotsana Jagannathan concludes with live musicians ensemble of Bharatanatyam. The Dance DISCourse is the only academic platform where rare films on dance are shown and at end, audiences can interact with the dancers. A must see.
