7.00 pm | 29th of November | Kena (Church Street)

Pierre Folk

Born in 1986, Pierre Folk is a French photographer particularly known for his work on the inner city ‘Little Belt’ railway in Paris. Basing his reflection on the contentious relationships between the human being, his environment and between human beings themselves; Pierre offers a rich visual experience through his work on colours and a mastery of large formats. After several tens of publications (the Huffington Post, Slate, L’Obs, …-) in 12 countries, his work was broadcasted on a French TV channel and he received the honours for the Moscow International Foto Awards in 2014.

PLEASE FIND ENCLOSED
An exhibition solely developed through digital streams.

Collectif BLBC, based in Paris, France in collaboration with Kena, based in Bangalore, India, presents his new project “Please find enclosed”, an ephemeral photography exhibit based on the absence of physical exchange between the production space (artworks and curation) and the exhibition space. Thus, from Paris, where the photograph series “By the silent line” by Pierre Folk was realised, to Bangalore where it will be showcased, all the exchange produced around the exhibition, from the artistic dialogue between the artists, the curators and the gallery, to the production of the artworks and the administrative documentation, will be carried out through digital streams in order to illustrate the impact, now essential, at last on the multi polarisation of the art scene worldwide.

Since the exhibition “Les magiciens de la terre” (Magicians of the Earth) which created in 1989 a desire to break with the vision of an artworld structured by its historical poles (Europe, United Stated), artistic innovation has asserted itself, especially through emerging Biennales (Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Istanbul, Kochi…) as materialised by timely production of new trends, appearing without any levelling between the “historical” poles and the “new” poles of the globalized contemporary art scene. Subsequently, the new structurisation, depolarized and moving, allows us to consider digital artistic exchange as vectors of collaboration and artistic innovation, freeing itself from the usual barriers and to open thus far unthinkable perspectives. Thus, ‘PLEASE FIND ENCLOSED’ series proposes to relay on the new art world infrastructure a depolarized and dematerialized project, fixed in a economy of means which characterise the new areas of artistic production, to set on equal footing operators of contemporary creation.

‘PLEASE FIND ENCLOSED’ series is a collaborative project brought to you by Kena Artists’ Initiative and Collectif BLBC, Paris, with the kind support of the Alliance Française de Bangalore.
