From Classical piano scores to classic cars, that’s Indian-born, London-raised Classical pianist, Karl Lutchmayer for you. Karl whose extraordinary musical career includes performing under the baton of legendary conductors such as Lorin Maazel and Sir Andrew Davis, broadcasting on BBC Radio3, All India Radio and Classic FM, traveling the world accepting invitations to perform with the all the major symphony orchestras, and is a regular chamber performer, particularly with his own ensemble, Dialogos, apart from being a committed music educator, will soon be in our very own city once again barely two months after his last concert. This time Karl will be performing together with other prominent musicians from the city –Jonas Olsson (voice) & the Bangalore School of Music String Quartet comprising of Grace Biswas, Joy Peter, Anup Abraham Thomas and Jasiel Peter, the proceeds of the concert will go towards the funding of music education for exceptionally-talented students who would otherwise not have access to it due to economic and social reasons. Karl’s Bangalore repertoire will include Vaughan Williams, Lizst, and Debussy and will later be joined by Jonas Olsson to perform Holst’s Vedic Hymns, the concert will conclude with the performance of Schubert’s Trout quintet with Karl on the piano, joined by the BSM String Quartet. A passionate advocate of contemporary music, Karl has also given over 90 world premieres and had many works written especially for him.
