Description of the show

How can the cultural divide that separates contemporary western dance from traditional and classical Asian dances be bridged? The challenge of the festival “DanSe Dialogues” is also shared in the choreographic and theatrical documentary by Jérôme Bel, “Pichet Klunchun and myself”. It dramatises a dialogue between Pichet Klunchun, a Khon dancer (a Thai dance based on the Ramayana), and Jérôme Bel, contemporary dancer and choreographer. This duo, oscillating between dance and theatre, enables dancers to discuss their respective arts, their commonalities as well as distinctive traits in the practice of dance as a body art. And all this is conducted with humour and synergy.
