- Why learn French ?
Learning French will considerably improve your job prospects in India or abroad. Bangalore has more than 50 French companies which are always looking to recruit employees with French language skills.
Learning a language is also the best way to reach out to the world and discover a new culture.
- What are the languages taught at the AF Bangalore?
The Alliance has been the leader in the teaching of French language in Bangalore since 35 years. In 2009, 3500 “Bangaloreans” enrolled for our French courses.
From time to time, we also organize short-term spoken Kannada classes.
- What are the timings best suited for professionals?
We provide intensive language courses during week days (2 hours per day, 5 days per week, 2 months) at the following timings:
7-9h / 10 -12h / 14-16h / 18-20h.
Classes in the morning (7-9h) and in the evening (18-20h) are best suited for professionals.
- Does AF Bangalore have week-end classes ?
Yes, we also offer week-end classes (3 hours on Saturday and 3 hours on Sunday)
- Can I change batches regularly during a session?
Weekday classes are held from Monday to Friday and week-end classes on Saturdays and Sundays. You can choose your batch and your timing before the beginning of the course but no transfer is granted during the session (2 months for weekday course, 3.5 months for week-end courses).
- What certifications can I obtain at the end of the course?
You can appear for the DELF exams (French Ministry of Education). These certifications are recognized internationally. Students with a good attendance record will also receive an attestation from the Alliance française de Bangalore at the end of the session.
- I have already studied French. Which level can I enroll for?
Contact the Reception. The staff will help you fix a test with the Course Coordinator to assess your level in French.
- What kind of training do you provide to students wanting to pursue higher education in France?
We provide, in association with CampusFrance, an intensive training of 600 hours (starting in September) that combines language training, cross-cultural sensitization and work methodology in France.

- What is the mode of payment?
You can pay by cash or debit/credit card. The entire course fee has to be paid on the day of registration.
- Does the AF Bangalore have other centers in Bangalore and in Karnataka?
The main centre is located in Vasanthnagar. Beginners' classes are conducted in other centres located in Banashankari, Indiranagar and Koramangala.
The Mysore Chapter of the Alliance française is open in Mysore since April 2009. Branches in Mangalore and Manipal will open in July 2010.
- Who are the trainers?
The AF Bangalore’s team consists of 30 teachers. All are trained by the Embassy of France in India to teach French as a foreign language. Conversation courses are handled by native language speakers.
- Does the Alliance Française follow the same syllabus as the schools and universities?
No, the syllabus and the methodology of teaching are both different. The AF Bangalore stresses on speaking and listening comprehension, the French culture is also an important component. However, a course at the Alliance can reinforce your learning and help you procure good grades in your school/college exams.
- Are refunds possible?
No. Please consult the document « Course rules and regulations » available at the Reception before registration.
