From the artist:
‘Anywhere I lay my head’ is a contemporary dance solo project which is born after five years in India where I stud the Kathakali traditional Indian dance. I feel the need to link this learning to my own culture, to experiment the changes of my
body movements in a contemporary way and to testify about a very specific  experience of immersion in an other culture. I wanted to question the human capacity of adaptation to the world in his diversity. From a personal experience where I surprised myself going over the limits I though I had, I’m asking: Do we act on the world or are we acted by the world? How our mind is conditioned
by a cultural, social and family environment in front of a body which is made to adapt itself to his environment? Is it my body which is carrying my head or my head which is carrying my body? Is that the world which is turning back or am I standing on my head? Learning Kathakali, I had at first the feeling of doing a cultural splits by an approach of art and a body work which is very far from what we have in Western countries, then my gaze changed and I had the feeling to return to the roots of theatre, to find his requirement and his necessity. I did it with the collaboration of the choreographic centre of Marie Devillers, Format Ardèche and National Centre of Dance in France.
